Full question wording

It is generally accepted that there are only two possible ways to COMPLETELY scrap the NI Protocol. a) For NI to stay in the UK and to have customs checks on the border or within NI, between the NI and the Republic of Ireland, or b) for NI to leave the UK and join the Republic of Ireland in a united Ireland, therefore becoming part of the European Union (EU). If this were the case, and you had to choose between one of these options, which would you prefer, or would you prefer some sort of special arrangement (aka a NI Protocol) for Northern Ireland?
