Full question: If the UK leaves the Customs Union when it leaves the EU, this could mean the UK would no longer have to abide by EU regulations and would be able to conduct free trade deals with countries outside the EU. However, this could also result in a ‘hard border’ with customs checks between Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. How, if at all, do you think Brexit will affect the relationship between Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland?
