On the 28th August the Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, announced that he intended to suspend or ‘prorogue’ Parliament. This means that MPs could not formally meet for over a month from around the 11th September to the 14th October, in the run-up to the Government's 31st October Brexit deadline.
