These Government papers set out some of the preparations businesses, and in some situations, consumers would need to make if the UK and EU fail to reach an agreement on
our future relationship with the EU. Preparations are suggested because as a member of the EU, we currently trade with the EU freely - e.g. with no costs imposed on imports
and exports and no border controls. However this would not be the case in a ‘no-deal’ situation. Below are a series of impacts that could arise if we stopped trading freely
with the EU. How likely, or unlikely, do you think it is that the following will happen if the UK leaves the EU without a deal in March 2019?
- Hold-ups at the border for travellers and holiday-makers
