As you may know, the government and the EU are currently negotiating a trade deal that would come into force at the end of the ‘transition period’ that began when the UK left the EU on 31 January this year and ends on 31 December this year. If no agreeement can be reached, the UK will have to trade with the EU without a trade deal. Which of the following statements comes closest to your view?
