Intro to 11/11/2011 question: 'There is currently a debt crisis in the Eurozone
(that is, countries that use the Euro, the
European single currency), with some countries
in the Eurozone unable to pay their debts
without help. Unless they are given money by
other European countries it is likely they would
have to default on their debt payments, which
would risk bringing down European banks and
causing another economic crisis. Countries in
Europe have agreed a plan for bailing out
countries in difficulties and protecting European
banks. The costs of trying to save the Eurozone
may come to hundreds of billions of pounds.
